Paymob, a funds infrastructure supplier working across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) area, has raised $35m in a pre-Series C funding spherical.
The spherical was collectively led by Mubadala Investment Company, the Abu Dhabi sovereign investor, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Existing and other taking part backers included British International Investment, Global Ventures and DPI Ventures.
According to a assertion from Mubadala, the capital will support Paymob’s ongoing regional growth across MENA.
It plans to use the funds to broaden its core digital funds acceptance operations and roll out extra merchandise aimed at SME retailers and agentic commerce.
Paymob co-founder and CEO Islam Shawky said: “This Pre-Series C funding round will help us accelerate our growth plan across the MENA region and fast-track our product roadmap to become the go-to payments platform for agentic commerce.”
The investment comes after what the company described as sturdy financial and operational outcomes over the previous 18 months. Over that period, Paymob’s consolidated revenues across its 4 markets rose threefold, while revenues from the GCC elevated sevenfold. Nearly half of the company’s complete income now comes from GCC markets.
Since receiving its Retail Payment Services Licence from the Central Bank of the UAE in January 2025, Paymob has added about 20,000 retailers to its platform across its three GCC markets.
The company’s omnichannel gateway supports more than 60 cost strategies and serves over 390,000 retailers.
Founded in 2015, Paymob was first licensed by the Central Bank of Egypt. It later expanded into the UAE in 2023 and secured regulatory approval from the Central Bank of the UAE.
